Emma Ogawa Todd is a Japanese-English multidisciplinary artist working in London, who examines interconnected ecologies and coexistence, guided by Shinotist philosophy. Her practice is a process of claiming family lineage and ‘returning to our roots’. Through this process, she wrestles with the complexity of mixed identities, displacement of self and the in-between, investigating the material and intellectual properties of Japanese cultural objects, practices and iconographies.
