Having been born and raised in Portugal, where the rich tradition of tile and ceramic work influenced my interest in Art Conservation and Restoration practices, I soon realised that my passion lay in incorporating elements of imperfection and salvaged materials into my work, while still maintaining a sense of formal rigour.
In 2018, I moved to the UK to pursue a degree in Fine Art at Cambridge School of Art, where I graduated with first-class honours. This experience enabled me to immerse myself in two different cultures and navigate between the roles of an "outsider" and an "insider."
This process of moving and adapting has heightened my awareness of my surroundings. Through my art-making process, I interpret and convey my movement and experiences.
